Bye Bye Eaton

January 30, 2008 - Demolished! Gone are the buildings of used to be one of Saginaw's top employers, Eaton Corporation. After a half decade in operation with thousands of jobs, Eaton took advantage of the tax and wage savings and relocated these operations to Mexico. This isn't about a bankrupcy, not about a small company closing down, ..but rather a large manufacturing plant MOVING to another country... sad sad..

This is true SAD. We were employed by Eaton and they didn't even care that they ruined hundreds of families. It's all about the mighty buck. I can only pray that Sandy Cutler(CEO) gets his payback one day!!!!!

I found it amusing that within an hour of reading a new company on-line article about Eaton purchasing the Mexico facility, the company conducted an employee meeting to discuss it. Tells me that management had this planned for some time. They also indicated that this meant nothing to Saginaw, that Mexico produced only old style lifters. We were also told that the new plant manager was NOT there to close the place (which he did). Lies, lies, Lies! Goes hand in hand with greed.

Eaton used to say "People are our most important resource" There are 300+ ex-employees in Saginaw who would disagree.

Well, if American workers don't want to compete, the jobs will go to those who do...

Those people would lose their jobs either by being overpaid and see the jobs move, or by being overpaid and forcing Eaton into bankruptcy. Either way they lose. Eaton has to put the shareholders first.
